The Picota de Trujillo or locally known as the 'Picota', located in the small provincial town of Trujillo in Spain, is a large boulder structure right in the middle of the historic center square. It is a unique example of the castles and fortresses that were scattered around the town centuries back. It is a delightful place to visit and is worth a few pictures. There are many photo opportunities around the Picota since the area is filled up with historic buildings and stunning views of the countryside. You can visit the nearby castle of Trujillo and the ancient Puerta de Palmas on the walls of the castle. There are two churches in the town, the Iglesia de San Martin and the Iglesia de San Francisco. Both are splendid examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture. Also, explore the beautiful cobbled streets of the town and appreciate the Spanish-style facades of the typical houses.
