Petritoli is a compact hill town in the province of Fermo, set among the undulating farmland of southern Marche between the Adriatic coast and the Sibillini Mountains. Its historic center is entered through the distinctive Tre Archi, a monumental triple-arched gateway that frames the brick lanes beyond. Inside, narrow passages, stairways, small squares and warm terracotta façades preserve the town’s layered medieval character, while the elegant Teatro dell’Iride reflects its later civic life. From the outer walls and higher streets, broad views unfold across patchworked fields, scattered farmhouses and distant ridgelines, giving photographs a strong contrast between dense urban textures and the open Marche landscape.
