Pemetic Mountain is situated in Maine’s Mount Desert Island in the United States. Unlike the rocky peaks of the nearby mountains, this granite dome provides visitors with an absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean and its surrounding landscape. While the challenging climb up the 1,270 ft peak can prove quite exhausting, it’s worth the trek when one gets to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets one can experience. Not to mention, the island is also home to Acadia National Park, one of the most popular places in the country for hiking and exploration of the lush coastal forest. There’s a 2.4 mile trail that takes one from the lower parking lot to the summit, where one can get a panoramic view of some of the most stunning scenery in the US. Make sure to bring a sturdy pair of shoes and plenty of water – it can get pretty hot. The peak is an incredible place to soak in the serenity and take in the colors of nature.
