📍 From The breakwater, Isle of Man
Peel Castle, located in Peel on the Isle of Man, is a 1,100-year-old fortress. It is the oldest existing building on the Isle of Man and is located on an island-like a hill overlooking Peel Bay. The castle is surrounded by walls that were built between the 12th and 16th centuries. The walls were made to protect against invaders. Inside the castle, there are two chapels, two towers, a chapel-tomb, and the Bishop's Palace. The remains of St German's Cathedral can also be seen nearby. The Castle is open to the public and a great place to explore. There are also a few shops in the area of the castle where you can buy souvenirs. A trip to the castle makes for a great day out as there are also lots of lovely walks along the shore of Peel Bay.
