📍 Italy
Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau ("Pavilion of the New Spirit") is a mausoleum-like structure designed by renowned architect Le Corbusier. Completed in 1926, the building is now part of the grounds of the Pitigliano public garden in Bologna, Italy. The pared-down modern style of the building, along with its unusual location, draws visitors from around the world. Intended to commemorate the Italian victory in World War I, the stark white walls and sloped roof of the monument make a lasting visual impression. Inside the monument are Le Corbusier's abstract and symbolic designs that were intended to represent peace and unity. Visitors are welcome to stroll the gardens and admire the symbolism of the Pavillon de l'Esprit Nouveau.
