The Parroquia de San Pedro Apóstol stands on Plaza de San Pedro in Seville’s historic center, close to Plaza del Cristo de Burgos. Built in the Gothic-Mudéjar tradition, it combines medieval Christian church forms with brickwork and timber craftsmanship rooted in Islamic building traditions. Its three-aisled interior has pointed arches and wooden ceilings, while the brick tower, crowned by a tiled spire, gives the surrounding square a distinctive landmark. The painter Diego Velázquez was baptized here in 1599, a connection commemorated inside the church. From the plaza, the contrast between the tower’s brickwork, the pale façade and the sculpted stone entrance gives a clear view of the building’s layered architectural character.
