Parliament Hill - East Block in Ottawa is Canada's iconic symbol of a nation and a must-visit site for many travelers, especially on Canada Day when the area is a hub of activity. Constructed between 1859 and 1866, the East Block is an important part of Canada's parliamentary heritage and home to many of Canada's iconic moments. Inside the building are offices for cabinet ministers as well as the Prime Minister. There are also lovely galleries featuring historic artifacts, art and statues. Additionally, Parliament Hill offers spectacular views of the Ottawa skyline and the Parliament buildings, and the grounds host special events and activities year-round. Parliament Hill's Changing the Guard ceremony is a must-see ritual where you can experience the pomp and pageantry of the Canadian military. The grounds also offer beautiful gardens, breathtaking walking paths and tons of history and culture. The majestic Confederation Building is also a great spot to take in stunning views.
