Butte Montmartre is also home to other important sites, such as the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the infamous Moulin Rouge. Also in Argenteuil just outside of Paris, is the breathtaking Sacré-Coeur Basilica, known for its dramatic Romanesque façade. Inside, visitors find magnificent artworks, marble mosaics and the beautiful crown of thorns built into the walls. The grassy hillside around the basilica is an ideal spot for a picnic, with wonderful views of the nearby river Seine.
