Parc Oriental de Maulévrier is a UNESCO-listed botanical garden in Maulevrier, France. The park is spread over 10 hectares of land and contains a wide variety of exotic trees and other plants imported from distant countries. There are over 800 species of plants, including several rare and endangered ones, and over 330 trees – some of which are several hundred years old. The visitor centre offers guided tours around the gardens, educative lectures and interesting activities, such as photography, workshops, and night-time tours with a cold buffet. A large lawn provides a beautiful natural setting for a picnic, so bring a blanket and snacks to enjoy the lush surroundings here. Other attractions at the park include a Japanese lake, a small lake with swans, and beautifully designed fountains. The park is open year-round, although it is best to visit during warmer months to fully enjoy the green landscape.
