📍 From Drone, Brazil
The Paranapiacaba Clock Tower rises beside the railway tracks at the heart of this historic village in Santo André’s Serra do Mar district. Its British-inspired design recalls the English influence behind the railway settlement, developed around the line linking São Paulo’s plateau with the port of Santos. The tower remains Paranapiacaba’s defining landmark, visually anchoring the rail yard, workers’ houses and forested slopes. Frequent mist from the surrounding Atlantic Forest can soften the structure into silhouette, while clearer conditions reveal its clock faces, metal framework and strong vertical contrast against the low village skyline.
