The Palmer House Staircase in Chicago, United States, is one of the most iconic pieces of architectural design in the city. Located within the limestone-clad Palmer House Hilton Hotel, the staircase was designed by the architectural firm Holabird & Roche in the early 20th century. With its ornamental lighting fixtures, coffered ceilings, marble wainscoting and hand-carved plaster elements, the staircase is a sight to behold. Visitors can ascend the grand steps and find themselves at the top of a balcony overlooking the historic State Street. The staircase has featured in many films, including the 1929 gangster classic "Scarface," and it's still a popular site for wedding photos.
