The Palazzo Vecchio is one of Florence’s most famous landmarks, located in the city’s historic city center. The palace has a long history, having been built in the 1200s on the remains of a fortress of the same name. It served as the seat of Florence’s rulers until the 15th century, when it was turned into a civic museum. Today, it is a symbol of the city’s iconic Renaissance architecture. Inside, you can explore Renaissance frescoes and Roman sculptures, as well as the Hall of the Five Hundred and Vasari Corridor. The exterior features spectacular towers, loggias, and balconies, with fine views of the Duomo and Palazzo Strozzi. The palace is surrounded by the Boboli Gardens, one of Florence’s most beautiful parks.
