The Palazzo Pubblico in San Marino is one of the most important landmarks in the world's oldest republic. Located in the capital city of Città di San Marino on a steep hill overlooking the beautiful countryside of northeastern Italy, this iconic 14th century building has served as the seat of the head of state since its inauguration. Its red-tiled roof and marble facade makes it one of the most recognisable structures of San Marino's capital. Inside features an interior garden courtyard, as well as spectacular frescoes and artwork created by 18th century Venice painter Francesco Confrancesco Hayez. It also houses the authorative Statues of Liberty, bearing symbolic meaning of freedom. A potential must see for those visiting San Marino.
