Palazzo dei Priori stands on Piazza Alta, the civic and religious heart of Sarnano’s hilltop historic center in the Marche. Its name recalls the priori, magistrates who governed Italian communes, and the palace forms part of a compact medieval ensemble alongside other public buildings and the church of Santa Maria Assunta. Warm brickwork, stone details and the close-set façades give the square a unified character, while steep lanes rising through the town emphasize its elevated setting. Photographs from the edges of Piazza Alta can frame the palace within this layered urban scene, where arches, windows and adjoining towers reveal Sarnano’s medieval scale and civic identity.
