Palazzo dei Celestini is a Baroque palazzo in Lecce’s historic center, carved from the city’s honey-colored limestone that gives the façades their warm glow. Visually it stands out for an exuberant, heavily sculpted exterior: columns, scrolls, cherubs and floral reliefs crowd around arched windows and a central portal, a compact example of the local “Lecce Baroque” vocabulary. Photographically, the stone’s softness picks up low-angle sunlight and casts crisp shadow lines that emphasize carved depth; the building’s rhythmic windows and enriched cornices create repeating patterns and a strong sense of scale against narrow streets. A small internal courtyard and layered façades reward closer inspection and low-angle compositions that isolate texture and ornament.
