Palazzo Davia Bargellini is an example of the splendor of 17th century court architecture, located in the historical city of Bologna. Built by Countess Verdena Davia in 1672 and completed in 1738, it was later acquired by the Bargellini family. The palace is rivalled only by the Savonarola palace in terms of its monumental grandeur. Palazzo Davia features richly ornamented facades, with triangular pediments, tall Istrian stone columns, large balconies and terraces, statues of Virtues and Hercules and ornamental garland work. Inside, you can find a double stairway, a large salone with a Teatro Farnese ceiling, and frescoes, stuccos and furnishings typical of the period. Bring your camera, as the palace is definitely worth a good shot.
