The Palazzo Comunale e Torre Civica is the municipal palace with its civic tower that punctuates Locorotondo’s compact, circular old town in Puglia. Set amid the town’s concentric, whitewashed streets, the building reads as a vertical anchor against a low skyline of pale stone and stucco; the tower provides a clear focal point when you compose shots along the radial alleys. Visually interesting are the contrast of the tower’s vertical lines with the rounded urban plan, the textured façades and iron balconies that catch side-light, and the way warm late-afternoon sun deepens the soft tones of the masonry. The ensemble is best framed from street level within the centro storico, where close quarters emphasize scale and geometry.
