The Palacio Municipal de La Plata is an impressive stately building located in La Plata, Argentina. It was planned and designed by renowned French architect Ernest Sanson in 1882, and it combines influences of Baroque, Neoclassical and French architecture. The main facade is more than 100m (330 feet) wide, making it one of the widest in the world. Inside, the palace's main hall is adorned with Murano glass chandeliers, intricate marble floors and exquisite Ancient Egyptian motifs and sculptures. Other interesting features include the colonnades of the lateral facades, the arched interior rooms, the grand staircase in the main lobby, and the grand fountain in the center of the inner patio. The Palacio Municipal de La Plata is a must-see if you're visiting La Plata or Buenos Aires, Argentina.
