The Palacio del Gobernador is located in the ancient city of Uxmal, in the Mexican state of Yucatan. Visiting the Palacio del Gobernador is one of the highlights of a trip to Uxmal, as it is the best-preserved building in the ancient city. Built by the Maya civilization, it is believed to be around 1500 years old.

The Palacio is a three-tiered pyramid, towering over 50 feet high. Its four walls have staircases leading up to the top, from where visitors can enjoy amazing views of the surrounding area. The pyramid also includes a large courtyard, built in the same classic Maya style. The Palacio del Gobernador is covered with decorative designs, sculptures, and carvings. In the main courtyard, you can see the gigantic masks of Chac, the god of the rain. Admire the stucco carvings of plant and geometric symbols on the facades of the building, as well as the terraces which wrap around the staircases. The Palacio del Gobernador is one of the most mesmerizing and significant sites of the Mayan world, where you can step into the past and appreciate the historical grandeur of a once-important Mayan city.
