The Palacio de Cibeles, in Madrid, Spain, is an iconic building located at the Plaza de Cibeles. It serves as the home of Madrid’s City Council and is the former headquarters of the post office. This impressive neoclassic building was inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in 1919. Visitors to the palace can appreciate its large central courtyard, along with several other splendid open spaces, such as the Salón Real, the Royal Chamber and the Salón Regio. Other highlights of the building include the impressive marble staircase and the seven bronze allegorical statues that adorn the facade.
