📍 From The Fountain - St Thomas Gardens, United Kingdom
The Palace of Westminster is located on the north bank of the River Thames in Greater London, UK. It is one of the most iconic landmarks in London, and a symbol of British democracy. The Palace is home to both Houses of Parliament - the House of Commons and the House of Lords - where the UK government is shaped and debated. The present building, designed by Sir Charles Barry, was completed in 1870. It is a magnificent example of Victorian architecture consisting of over 1,100 rooms, 4.9 km of passages and 100 staircases. Its most recognizable feature is the clock tower - known as the Elizabeth Tower or Big Ben - which overlooks the Houses of Parliament. The palace also provides an impressive backdrop to the iconic London Eye. Visitors to the Palace can explore the interiors of the Great Hall, House of Lords and House of Commons. Tours and exhibitions are available, including access to the viewing galleries, offering great views of Big Ben, the Thames and the Houses of Parliament.
