The Palace of Culture and Science is a Cultural Center in Warszawa, Poland. It was a gift from the Soviet Union to the Polish people as a "gift from the Soviet people to the Polish nation" and inaugurated in 1955. The building is 231m tall and lays on an area of 52 647 sq m, making it the tallest building in Poland. In 2004 it was put on the register of objects of cultural heritage. The building contains two theaters, three museums, and an educational center, as well as numerous bookstores, bars, and restaurants. Inside the building, visitors will find a planetarium, a swimming pool, bowling alley, and a casino. Outside, visitors will find a large park filled with bronze sculptures, a reflecting pond, and a memorial to the Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Poland. From the observation deck on the 30th floor, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of Warszawa.
