Padrão dos Descobrimentos is a 52-meter-high monument honoring the Age of Exploration and Portugal's famous navigators, located near the Tagus River in the Belém neighborhood of Lisbon, Portugal. This remarkable structure was built in 1960 and serves as a symbol of Portuguese achievements in navigation, trade, and discovery. Offering striking views of Lisbon and the Tagus River, this monument is a great place to visit. The monument features bronze sculptures of Magellan, Vasco da Gama, and other famous Portuguese navigators. In front of the monument is Praça do Império, a beautifully landscaped square. From the top of the monument, you can see may beautiful sunsets and boats of all shapes and sizes cruising by.
