Ospedale degli Innocenti and Piazza SS. Annunziata in Firenze, Italy, host some of the most beautiful and iconic monuments in the world. Ospedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents) is an historical structure with an overlapping of arcades that was built in the 15th century by the guild of silk (Arte della Seta) to host orphans. You will be fascinated by the successive arches in 'Amelia stone', the red terracotta tiles and the stone plaques. Piazza SS.Annunziata is located next to the Ospedale, hosting some of the most famous architectural styles of the city. These include the 15th century Basilica of Santissima Annunziata and its Loggia dei Serviti and the 14th century Ospedale della Scala, the oldest functioning hospital in the world. Here you can find the fresco of Beato Angelico and the Collezione dell'Opificio delle Pietre Dure, a jewels museum. Both places offer astonishing views of Firenze, an experience that can't be described in words.
