📍 Poland
Opalony Wierch is a 2,115-metre summit in the Polish High Tatras, within Tatra National Park south of Zakopane. Its broad ridge separates the Morskie Oko basin from the Valley of Five Polish Lakes, placing it between two of the range’s most recognizable glacial landscapes. Unlike the sharper granite peaks nearby, Opalony Wierch has a rounded, partly grass-covered profile, with pale rock faces and steep slopes dropping toward the lakes. The blue-marked route linking Morskie Oko with the Five Lakes valley traverses its flank rather than the summit, revealing shifting views of dark water, scree, dwarf pine and the surrounding skyline. As elsewhere in the national park, visitors should remain on marked trails.
