With its original canons still standing, the fortress provides an impressive view of the blue rooftops and walls of the ancient medina. Inside the fort, the nearby Mouassine Mosque is a great place to explore, with beautiful Islamic architecture and detailed craftsmanship. From the top of the fortress walls, you can also enjoy the serenity of the Essaouira Marina, just a few steps away.
