
Located in the Haute-Savoie department of France, the Observatoire Astronomique de Vinzier is a major astronomical observatory located in the hamlet of Vinzier near the town of Annemasse. It is a spot unique to the world, being an ancient astronomical observatory which is still in use today. The main feature of the observatory is the main telescope, which is a refractor of 11 inches in diameter and an 81-inch focal length.
