
Obelisco di Urbino is an iconic monument located in the center of Urbino, Italy. This 19th-century granitic monolith celebrates the great ruler of the Duchy of Urbino, Federico di Montefeltro. The obelisk stands 246 feet tall and can be seen from a great distance. It has four reliefs that depict different scenes from the life of Federico di Montefeltro, the four cities he governed, and his motto: “fede e virtù” - faith and virtue. Obelisco di Urbino is a great spot to admire the beauty of Urbino as it stands as a symbol of its historic past. There are various paths that visitors can take to reach the obelisk and visitors can also find various interesting spots along the way.
