Oak Alley
📍 From Inside, United States
Oak Alley is a Louisiana plantation located in Vacherie, United States. Built-in 1837 by Col. Jacques Roman, this plantation is known for its extraordinary and breathtaking 300-year-old Alley of Oak Trees – a beautiful pathway lined with 28 evenly-spaced live oak trees – each nearly 60 feet tall. These trees stretch from the Mississippi River to the 28 Greek Revival-style columns of the mansion, towering overhead. It is a truly spectacular sight and is considered to be a true work of art in architecture. The plantation is open for guided tours of the grounds, house, and slave quarters all year round. Visitors can also explore the shops and galleries and enjoy a delicious Southern cuisine in the restaurant. Oak Alley is a great destination for history and architecture buffs, as well as anyone who loves taking beautiful pictures.
