📍 China
Nuozhadu Reservoir is a vast artificial lake on the Lancang River in Pu’er, southwestern Yunnan, created by the Nuozhadu Dam and hydropower station. Its flooded river valleys form long, branching inlets between steep, forested hills, revealing the scale of both the regional landscape and the engineering project. From elevated roads and settlements, photographs often compress layered ridges above broad blue-green water, while exposed banks can add bands of pale rock and reddish soil as water levels change. The reservoir also belongs to the upper Mekong system, linking this quiet mountain scene to one of Southeast Asia’s major rivers.
