Nugget Point is an iconic lighthouse overlooking the southern coast of Ahuriri Flat in New Zealand. The area is home to many species of seabirds, seals, and penguins. Its dramatic location on a rocky outcrop makes for a stunning view. Numerous walking tracks provide access to the area, as well as to ruggedly beautiful coastline. The sea cliffs are home to numerous wildflowers, while its many tidal creeks offer a diverse population of marine life. Popular activities such as fishing, sea kayaking, and deep-sea diving can be enjoyed here. The lighthouse is open to visitors, with the top level offering a grand panorama of the stunning ocean views. For romantic sunsets, nearby Long Beach is an ideal choice.
