
Notre Dame des Sablons is an impressive 12th-century lighthouse situated near the sea salt ponds of Aigues-Mortes in the Languedoc region of France. It stands around 40 meters tall and is the only surviving example of its kind. Inside, visitors can find 5 floors, with the topmost one offering a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea. The lighthouse is also home to a chapel decorated with beautiful frescoes. Visitors can climb up the spiral staircase to the top, however no elevator is available. It is a popular spot for photographers and offers an exquisite view of the spring flowers in the surrounding area. Go and explore!
