Notre Dame de Reims is a 13th century Gothic Catholic cathedral located in the city of Reims, in the Champagne region of France. One of the most impressive examples of French Gothic architecture, the cathedral was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Its façade features intricate stone sculptures, numerous spires, and two stunning rose windows. The exterior of the cathedral is breathtaking and well-preserved, although extensively damaged during World War I. Notre Dame de Reims is best known as the traditional site for the coronation of French kings, including Charles VII, Napoleon, and Louis XVIII. Inside the building, visitors can admire three awe-inspiring naves, numerous chapels, intricate stained-glass windows, and preserved 15th-century murals depicting scenes from the life of Jesus.
