NLAK'PAMUX CHURCH is a Site of National Historic Importance located in Spences Bridge, British Columbia, Canada. This traditional cedar longhouse church of the Nlaka'pamux First Nation stands near the Fraser River. The distinctive building features hand carved wooden crest figures and a totem pole. The church's carvings are believed to represent Nlaka'pamux mythology. The inside of the church is home to several religious artifacts, including crosses, bible quotes, and antlers. Visitors can take a walk around the church and admire the unique blend of First Nations and Christian cultures. Inside, one can view the detailed artwork in the stunning mountain and sky vistas that fill the interior. There is a large rock near the church where the Nlaka'pamux say a great chieftain practiced rituals. The church marks an important symbol in the development of a unique cultural tradition for the nation.
