Nitra Castle is one of Slovakia's most important historical monuments. Built in the 9th century, it was an important cultural and economic center until it fell into disrepair in 1671. The main tower of the castle, the Turov Tower, has been completely rebuilt and visitors can now walk around its walls and inner courtyard. Inside the walls, they can explore several important smaller buildings and a notable art gallery. The castle grounds also provide a view of the city below and the majestic surrounding hills. The Holy Trinity Column, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located just a few steps away from the castle.
