📍 Italy
Ninfeo Fede is an important ruin in Tivoli, Italy. It is located in the gardens known as the Villa d'Este, home to a Renaissance villa built in 1550. The Ninfeo Fede (Temple of Venus in English) is situated on an artificial island in the oval shaped fourth terrace of the garden, and was built in the mid-18th century by the architect Antonio Asprucci. It was an integral part of the gardens' design and was intended to represent the mythological myth of Venus rising from the sea. This small ruin is considered to be among the best examples of Rococo architecture in Italy as well as a emblem of the area. From the Ninfeo stands a breathtaking view of the nearby town of Tivoli and the Roman countryside, making it a must-see attraction for travelers and photographers.
