The Nine o’clock Gun is a time gun located in Vancouver’s waterfront, in the city’s inner harbor. It has released a single shot at 21:00 Pacific Standard Time since the late 1800s! It marks the evening ceremony, during which flags of the Royal Canadian Navy are lowered. The gun was originally installed in order to alert the burgeoning town’s citizens to the exact time so they may set their clocks, now it's much more of a tourist attraction for the city. The twelve-pounder field gun is mounted on a concrete plinth, and it is fired from a mount – no ammunition is used. Make sure to take some pictures of this iconic Canadian landmark!
