Nikoly Temple is a beautiful heritage-listed Russian Orthodox church in Moscow, Russia. The church was first constructed in 1680 by the Russian church builder for which it was named after, Nikoly. It has since been reconstructed several times, the most recent being in 1983. The exterior of the temple is adorned in traditional baroque architecture, with an impressive combination of onion-shaped domes and a bell tower reaching over 32 meters. Inside the church, you'll find some magnificent frescoes and ornate chandeliers. Nikoly Temple is situated in a part of the city where many buildings from the Soviet period are located. Visiting the famous temple is an opportunity to explore a piece of Moscow's rich history, so make sure to include it in your Moscow itinerary.
