The Niederwald Monument is a tribute to the unification of the German nation in 1871 and is one of the oldest memorials in Germany, situated on the Rhine Heights near the town of Rüdesheim am Rhein. The monument stands 37 meters tall and consists of four bronze statues of Germania, the allegorical female figure of Germany, with each arm holding either a sword or an imperial crown. The entire monument is surrounded by a pine forest. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region and draws visitors from all over the world. Visitors can hike up to the monument and enjoy breathtaking views of the Rhine river and the surrounding landscape. There is also a small museum located here which showcases the history and legacy of the monument.
