📍 From Wilhelminakade, Netherlands
New Orleans is a residential tower on Rotterdam’s Wilhelminapier, a former dockland area on the Nieuwe Maas that has become a cluster of high-rises. Designed by Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza, its pale, regular façade stands out amid the pier’s varied skyline. The tower’s name echoes Rotterdam’s transatlantic shipping history, while the cinema and music venue LantarenVenster at its base keeps the waterfront active beyond its residential role.
