Neuschwanstein Castle

The Neuschwanstein Castle, located in Schwangau, Germany, is a stunning 19th century Romanesque Revival castle. It is often referred to as “the castle of the fairy-tale king” due to its appearance and its connections to the composer Richard Wagner. The castle was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a tribute to the characters in Wagner’s operas. It also served as an escape from the rigid politics of court life. When visiting the castle, admire its grandeur from one of the bridge viewpoints as its delicate spires and tall towers reach up to the sky.
