The Neues Rathaus (or Town Hall) in Hannover, Germany is an impressive building, built in the late 19th century. Situated in the centre of the city, the Neues Rathaus stands at the crossroads of the old and new divisions of the city; it is also an important landmark in this major metropolitan area. The building, designed by architect Georg Grimm, features a remarkable facade decorated with colorful stonework in a Baroque style. Inside, the impressive interior is an impressive mixture of Rococo and Late Renaissance styles. The ivory rooms and coats of arms line the walls and large staircases surround the grand hall. The building also includes a small museum where the life and works of Georg Grimm can be seen.
