The Neuer Leuchtturm in Lindau stands at the outer edge of the town’s harbour on Lake Constance (Bodensee), marking the channel into the port beside the well-known Bavarian Lion sculpture. The red-brick cylindrical tower with its white lantern and gallery reads clearly against water and sky, a compositional anchor for waterfront photos. Photographically its strengths are strong geometric contrasts—the vertical shaft against low horizontal mole, the textures of masonry and ironwork, and frequent mirror-like reflections on calm water; on clear days the distant Alpine ridgeline provides a layered backdrop. The harbour promenade and boats approaching the mouth give multiple foregrounds and vantage points that frame the lighthouse with the lion and the lake.
