Nehaj Fortress is a fort located in Senj, Croatia, overlooking an ancient settlement in the Adriatic Sea's northern region. The structure was built in 1558 by the Uskoks who were defending themselves from the Ottoman Empire at the time. Visitors of the fortress can explore its multi-level fortress walls, circular lookout towers, and the church on the summit from which the view of the Adriatic Sea is simply breathtaking. The massive fortress can be reached by taking a 282 steps stairway to the top, or, for a shorter trek, visitors can drive up the fortress's western side and enter through the main gate entrance. Visitors are strongly advised to bring their cameras as the views from any point in the fortress are simply beautiful!
