Narvskiye Triumfal'nyye Vorota
📍 Russia
Narvskiye Triumfal'nyye Vorota in St. Petersburg, Russia, is an incredible sight to behold. Located near the edge of the Neva River on the eastern part of the city, the monumental triple gateway was built in the early 18th century by Italians Gasteelli and Fontana. The structure is crowned by the Earl’s Coat of Arms and still stands today as a symbol of czarist Russia’s architectural triumph. The arch and the gate were used for important ceremonies through the centuries, from coronations and celebrations of victories to parades and farewell ceremonies. Narvskiye Triumfal'nyye Vorota is a work of art and steps away from the nearby Alexander Nevsky Lavra should be included in any traveler’s itinerary.
