Naqsh-e Jahan Square (or Imam Square) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a cultural, historical and religious hub in Isfahan, Iran. The square is large, with a length of 500 meters and a width of 160 meters. It is the second largest square in the world, after Tiananmen Square in China. The famous Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque is located on the south side of the square and is one of the marvels of Islamic architecture. You can admire the fantastic tiling and mirror work as you climb its minarets for beautiful panoramic views of the square. On the east side of the square is the Ali Qapu Palace with its grand façade, and to the north is the 400-year-old bazaar. To the west is the magnificent portal of the Qeysariyeh Bazaar. This area is a great place to explore traditional handicrafts and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the markets.
