
Nanzoin Temple is a Buddhist temple situated in the Japanese town of Sasaguri, in the Fukuoka prefecture. Its main feature is the ‘Mother of Compassion’, a 41-meter-tall reclining bronze statue of the Extensive Vow Bodhisattva, which is the largest temple statue of its kind in the world. The temple also houses treasures including a Japanese garden and Genkan Gate, as well as a cryptomeria (cedar) tunnel that is one of Japan's three longest. The entire precincts of the temple are covered in a tranquil atmosphere and many tourists visit to appreciate its traditional garden and cultural heritage.
