Nagoya Castle is a cinematic masterpiece that is popular for its dramatic main keep, which houses a museum within its interior. Built in 1612 in the traditional Japanese style, its iconic golden shachihoko fish adorn the top of the keep, and it's famously illuminated at night. The exterior is just as stunning. The Ninomaru (Second Castle) Garden is a beautiful spot to appreciate the original Momoyama period style of the grounds. The castle also is home to a number of other attractions, such as Nagoya Castle Honmaru Goten Palace, which is a former imperial palace that hosts events throughout the year.
