📍 From Ground, Mexico
The Soumaya Museum is a private museum in Mexico City containing one of the world's most extensive private collections of art. Located in the upscale Polanco neighborhood, the museum consists of two six-story teardrop-shaped structures and contains over 66,000 artworks from around the world, including a vast collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts. Contemporary artists such as Diego Rivera, Alfredo Zalce, Gabriel Orozco and Rufino Tamayo are also well represented. The museum is named after the founder's late wife, Soumaya Domit de Slim. Visitors can explore five different galleries - Pre-Hispanic, Sculptures, Old Masters, Art and Furniture - that depict the Mexican history and art of all times. Take your time to enjoy the art and sculptures reproducing surrealistic characters, and stroll through the three courtyards for a breath of fresh air.
