The Museo Sistino Vescovile occupies the episcopal complex beside Ripatransone’s cathedral, in the hill town’s compact historic center in southern Marche. Part of the Musei Sistini del Piceno network, named for Pope Sixtus V and his ties to this area, it preserves paintings, sculpture, sacred furnishings and liturgical objects connected with the local diocese. The museum gives context to Ripatransone’s long role as an ecclesiastical center, while carved frames, gilded details, textiles and devotional imagery offer close, detail-rich subjects within the historic rooms.
